Exhibition Supported Studio

In 2019 Project Art Works held our exhibition llluminating the Wilderness at Tate Liverpool as part of the Explorers Project. Along side a new film, the space was split into an exhibition and workshop space demonstrating our supported studio practice.

An evolving installation of artwork made in collaboration with neurodiverse people and groups from Social Care organisations across Merseyside included Natural Breaks, Mencap Sefton, Options for Supported Living, Blue Room, and Thingwall Resource Centre hung in the space.

Initially a series of huge blank paper banners, the installation was increasingly populated by drawings and paintings made by the groups as well as general visitors taking part in gallery workshops throughout the presentation.

The work from this exhibition has since been exhibition at Hastings Contemporary, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and Copenhagen Contemporary. The work demonstrates supported practice, collaboration and the importance of making a mark.
